Freedom Data Import by marking where and what data to put into the user report sheet

Most of the time, reports are generated by software. Although report can be customized, it is having certain limitations on formatting and the restriction of getting data within the software.

With this add-on, users can freely define and format report on Google sheet. When data is required, users define a marker through the sidebar of this add-on to the cell note, telling this add-on where to get and what to put to the report sheet. The data source can be from current sheet or another Google sheet, Google doc or a web page. Data can be sum or count as in pivot table or concatenated values. Updated data value will be highlighted in green with old value stored in the cell note. User can verify and export exported the report without markers.

  1. On a service day, I am using My Report Runner to pull the names from different departmental rosters into a single list. It helps everyone to know who are involved in the service. If you are compling reports from data sheets, please feel free to contact me.

  2. Besides pulling data from Google sheet, Google document, web data table can be pulled too. On the marker sidebar, input the web address and a key word/phase right above or inside the table. Runner will pull the data from the table.

For example, to get the exchange rates from https://www.hsbc.ca/international-services/foreign-exchange-rates/, just input the link and the key word 'Abbreviation'.
