The To-do List plugin uses the onEdit trigger to refresh your to-do list. This trigger takes a few seconds to reach Google’s server before the refresh starts. During this short delay, you can continue making multiple updates to your tasks. However, you’ll need to wait for the refresh to complete before making further edits. It is not efficient for large or bulk updates, you have to unplug and plug in which is also inefficient.
Because data transmission depends on Google Sheets’ network speed, there is currently no way to improve this delay.
✨ What’s New
♾️ Continuous Editing
This release introduces a smarter refresh process that allows you to edit continuously.
Unless you’ve enabled “Insert task when blank is filled”, the To-do list plugin will not alter any row layout, allowing you to continue editing freely.
If Insert task is enabled, please wait until the new row is added before editing any rows below.
A new message will appear in the task header cell:
💡 For browser, select this cell to refresh.
When all updates are completed, simply select the task header cell for the To-do list plugin to refresh your list. Mobile Sheet App does not support this feature.
⏳ Auto-Refresh
If no user requested refresh or edits for 20 seconds, the plugin will prepare to refresh automatically. You’ll see this warning message in the task header cell:
⏳ Refresh soon! For browser, select this = now | other = skip.
-
You can select the task header cell to start the refresh.
-
Select any other cell to skip the refresh.
If there’s no selection within 10 seconds, the refresh will start automatically.
